Hard Times – No it ain’t Starbucks and thank God it isn’t.  You can get a Hard Times breakfast taco plus coffee (with free refills) for less then $4.00,  Pancakes!  I’ve heard customers say that these are the best pancakes in 3 counties…  Little Dixon Kellner thinks so, he ate the whole thing.  Yes, order one.  These Mickey Mouse pancakes are good, at any age.  Hard Times is located at 3510 FM 359 in Pattison, Texas and the phone number is (281) 375-5586.  Lavern, they have pretty good Barbeque, too.  My favorite is the Hard Times bake potatoe.
Crave Cupcakes – The best damn cupcakes in Texas.  Most of ya’ll know I have a sweet tooth and I’ve covered a lot of Texas.  I heard about Crave Cupcakes from Jerry Seinfeld and had to find it.  I did and baby you need to too.  My favorites as of today are Cranberry Orange and Chocolate Espresso.  I love them, I do.  They are located near the Galleria in Houston.  The address is 1151-06 Uptown Park Boulevard.  Phone #   713.622.7283.   WEB    www.cravecupcakes.com  Do it!
Barbecue Inn - Now, I know what the name sounds like. And, Cousin Bill will tell you that they have great St. Louis Style ribs. And, I want to tell you, they have great service. But, if you want the best fried shrimp I’ve tasted in a good while, this is the place. Located at the corner of Crosstimbers and Airline Dr. 116 W. Crosstimbers. (713) 695-8112. That’s just outside the 610 Loop North near N. Shepherd Dr. By the way, they have been serving Houston since 1946. Closed Sundays & Mondays. Let me know what you think of their shrimp.
Baytown Seafood Restaurant - Why Baytown?? It’s located at 8765 Hwy. 35 N., Van Vleck, Texas, 77482.  That’s 4 miles from Bay City, Texas.  Well, anyway another TrueToTexas Great Place.  The seafood is great and I bet everything else is too.  The lunch specials. What a buy!  One of the specials, #12 is Grilled Red Snapper with Cajun Rice, Grilled Vegtables and Salad for only $8.99.  For $1.00 more you can add 3 jumbo shrimp.  I’ve eaten #12 twice and this is a real bargain.  There phone # is (979)323-0444.
Tony's

Neal’s Lodges – Well, Neal’s isn’t the Ritz, but it is a legacy.  Can you believe this campsite and more, located on the Frio River, has been open since 1926?  More.  Yes, country store and restaurant.  Check it out – www.nealslodges.com

Concan not Cancun !

Tony's TONY'S!! And I don’t mean Tony’s at 3755 Richmond Ave. I’m talking about TONY'S located at 1629 Meyer St., Sealy, Texas, ( 979) 885-4140. Tony’s is a good place to eat, can you believe that the breakfast special is only $3.99. That’s 3 eggs cooked anyway you want w/ bacon, ham or sausage, hash browns or grits, and biscuit or toast. Or for the BIG eaters the breakfast buffet is only $5.95 and all you can eat. Coffee, $1.00, refills free. Lunch buffet too. But, that’s not what makes TONY'S of Sealy a great place. It’s the service. Mary and Donna are just part of a team that will compete anywhere for friendly and fabulous service. Try them for breakfast and let me know what you think.
Texas Dairy Queens, DQ's Texas Dairy Queens, DQ's Rachel and I have tried to make them all. What a great history. Let’s see, I believe Dairy Queen came to Katy when I was in Junior High School and I’ve been partaking of the treats, pretty steady, ever since. First it was pineapple milk shakes, then I got on hot fudge sundaes and then Hawaiin Blizzards. The last 10 years it’s been blizzards and sundaes, but now I’m getting hooked on Moolatte’s. Reward yourself, we do.
The Breakfast Klub The Breakfast Klub “If breakfast is the most important meal of the day, why not have it twice”. I agree Repka’s has some great crawfish (in season), but Rickey, sorry this is the best Katfish and Grits I have ever eaten. With eggs of course. Waffles and Wings?? If owners Marcus and Melvinie aren’t from the Brazos Bottoms, they should be. The first time I ate there I felt like I had friends for life. The klub is located at 3711 Travis at Alabama near downtown Houston. (713) 528-8561. www.thebreakfastklub.com. Rickey, man it is worth the drive.
The Hill The Hill I love a good hamburger. Down home cookin’. My favorite order, to date, is a bacon cheeseburger with Hill fries. You have to ask for Hill fries. Remember Hill. Hey, I think every cowboy in the county comes through there. Located at 33111 Haley road at FM 362 south of Waller, Texas. (936) 931-9822 - www.thehillbarandgrill.com.

Orsak's Cafe Orsak's Cafe "On The Square" in Fayettville, Texas. I've been to Orsak's before and it has always been good. But, since Terri took over it has gotten a little better. Small town cafe lunch specials, burgers with fries, but my absolute favorite is Terri's own "homemade Peach Cobbler". Really it is worth the drive.
Kloesel's Steakhouse & Bar Kloesel's Steakhouse & Bar Kloesel's is located at 101 Moore street in Moulton, Texas. I stopped there the other day and ate a Great T-bone steak. Check them out at www.kloesel.com or call (361) 596-7323
Chinati Hot Springs Chinati "Hot" Spring Only I would drive by Chinati hot spring accidently. It is located in the Chihuahuan desert about 50 miles west of Presidio, Texas. It is definitly passed the tourist turn around. I was the only guest there for a Friday afternoon and it was great. The spring comes out of the ground loaded with minerals and is about 109 degrees. Chinati Hot Spring is laid-back and relaxing. Check them out on the web -- www.chinatihotsprings.org or give them a call at 915.229.4195
O.S.T. O.S.T. Located in Bandera, Texas at 305 Main Street. The best seat in the house is in the John Wayne Room. I love a good hamburger and "The Duke" is a hamburger I will drive out of my way to get. (830) 796-3836.
